VANQUISHER OF THE TSARS
HUSARZ 1610
We present the silhouette of a Hussar Comrade from the year 1610 – the year of the decisive victory at the Battle of Klushino. Under Hetman Stanisław Żółkiewski, the Commonwealth army crushed vastly superior Muscovite-Swedish forces, opening the gates of the Kremlin.
VISIBLE ELEMENTS OF CLOTHING AND ARMAMENT:
HUSSAR LANCE (KOPIA): Long hollow lance painted red with globe hand guard.
HUSSAR SZYSZAK (HELMET): Helmet with laminated neck guard, cheekpieces, and straight nasal guard.
HUSSAR HALF-ARMOR: Laminated breastplate and backplate of the half-anima type.
MAIL SLEEVES (RĘKAWY KOLCZE): Chainmail sleeves worn beneath the armor.
WOLF SKIN: Draped over the shoulders as status symbol and psychological tool.
WINGS: Zoomorphic wings mounted to armor or saddle.
SABER (SZABLA): Curved blade sidearm.
ŻUPAN: Crimson noble robe beneath the armor.
HUSSAR SHOES (TRZEWIKI): Low-cut yellow boots fitted with spurs.
