THE UNIVERSAL SOLDIER OF SOBIESKI’S ARMY
PANCERNY 1683
We present the silhouette of a Pancerni Comrade (Towarzysz pancerny) from the year 1683 – the year of the Relief of Vienna, one of the greatest triumphs in European history. Alongside the hussars, the pancerni formed the versatile backbone of King Jan III Sobieski’s cavalry, supporting charges, outflanking the enemy, and completing the destruction of broken enemy formations.
